moving the blog

hey guys.

we am getting a little confused between keeping two blogs, one personal and one wedding. so we have decided to merge them both at http://dancinglights.wordpress.com , the original blog. less to import if we moved peaandprincess!

:) hugs,

flower rings, again

my love affair with flower rings continues.

this couple, sophie + adam, had a wonderful intimate wedding (Ruffled call it an elopement, and doesnt that make it sound even more sweet?!) with a grand total of two guests and a justice of peace. photography by the talented people at wrinkle in time photography; see the whole photoset at the link.

their shared kiss looked so perfect, i stared at it for ages. i love how the photographers managed to catch the tears in her eyes in the perfect angle. i love the simplicity of her hair and make-up, and of all, i love the lovely purple flower ring & bouquet.

enough talk, lets look at some piccas.

where do i find umbrellas like these?

oh pea, can we please have these umbrellas? and the calligraphy on the tags, absolutely delights me. but you guys all know by now what a font nut i am.

i love the drink jars,  i love the old tins that the flowers were arranged in (there were tea tins, biscuit tins, etc) and i absolutely love the fairy lights.

so dreamy

Adam & Eve from dolly on Vimeo.

I like this wedding video, how it feels so movie-ish, rather than collage-ish. i really like the simplicity of her dress, it looks so comfy. i wonder if there is a value in taking so much time/moolah to tailor a big poofy dress you’d only wear once. doesnt she look great? and the veil. i love it.

i love this casual setting

love it, love it, love it.

(i even love the paper cranes, and i love the huge trees and rocks and i love the white blond shock of hair on the children. i love the picnic mats and i love the lemonade jar. i love the mismatched bridesmaids, and i love how the Justice of Peace wore sunshades)

my skinny rings

i love rings. there used to be a time where i would buy a ring from every holiday destination or at any significant milestone. (little has changed, really– i still love rings)

anyway, recently i have been very drawn to skinny rings, i blame roseark, they feature the most gorgeous things sometimes.

From Jennifer Meyer: thin gold stacked rings with precious stones

from munchkin designs: imperfect customisable stacking rings

from Etsy, another favourite haunt

By bloomstudio: dainty gold stacking rings: in yellow, white and rose gold

by tammy antoinette: Skinny Minis

by silverwoods: water rings in 14 karat rose gold

anyway i think you guys get my point.

as i am drawn to these ring stacks, i also think how lovely it is to wear just one alone.  so dainty, methinks.

case in point:

by proteales: a sliver of gold

so after my big hoo-ha about losing my brillant rose diamond (read abt it here), the pea and i were looking at replacement  another ring.

back then before the diamond got lost, while we were in the states we started looking at skinny rings (okay i say we, but really the pea has no interest in jewellry unless it scratches him accidentally). came close to buying a couple, but boy are we lucky we didn’t! because we recently found this lovely japanese designer. and perfect timing, cos well, we’re looking at rings!

romantic blue : found here

i can’t read japanese, so i guess i’d just describe it a little. its a skinny band of  diamonds set in 18K gold. tiny tiny diamonds that go all around. width of the ring is about 1 mm. ( i just measured!) and it has an inlaid tiny blue sapphire, trademark of this range.

it also comes in rose gold, platinum & platinum with solitaire. we got the yellow gold one.

it looks better in real life than in the picture!

we were actually pretty surprised that aurora jewellry in singapore carried the romantic blue line cos i always thought they only handled  simulated diamonds and semi precious stones. but apparently 3 of their outlets actually carry real diamonds. lucky for us, the branch we picked (because i had to go and see the ring in real life –since i found out romantic blue is now  in Singapore under aurora) were one of those 3 that did! serendipity! :) its so dainty, i’m so scared i’d knock the diamonds right out (again) but the pea assures me the shop attendant told him they could replace the diamonds if they got knocked out for a fee (free workmanship, but he’s gotta pay for the diamond.)

rocks.

oh, you’d be so gorgeous

more bridesmaid dresses.

oh you guys will be so beautiful, right? i still havent decided the colours, or whether we should do same fabric different styles, or different fabric different styles different shades of the same colour, or totally different colours same style, or… so many permutations.

small intimate affaires.

see, recently the pea and i have been arguing a fair bit of how big (or small) our wedding should be. i am leaning towards a small wedding affair, so that i can handmake all the details and let everyone leave with something made from the heart, not a corporate gift mass produced. the reason for the lack of updates is not so much that i have been busy, but really as i look at more and more wedding blogs, i panic about having to fit all those ideas into one day– and worse, the pea wants to have it big & ballroom scale. see, panic rising. the princess is so not a people person.

i am leaning towards the small and intimate.

so here is a beautiful wedding, note how many guests she has at the ceremony.
